Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

What if we arrive at night, after the office closes? What if we do not have a reservation when we get there at night?

If you arrive at night and have a reservation, then your name will be written on an envelope and put next to the front door. Inside that envelope you will find the map with all the details you need to access your reserved site. If you arrive without a reservation after the office closes, there will be maps next to the front door that have the available sites on them and how to get to them. Simply choose one, settle in for the night at your chosen site, and in the morning, we will check you in and handle the registration section then.

Do we have propane refuel stations?

Yes, every campground has a station to refill propane tanks.

Do you have pull through sites?

Yes, each campground has pull-through sites available.

Is my site 50 amp? Is my site 30 amp?

Depends on the site. Each campground has its own map and that map shows whether each site is 50 or 30 amp.

Do you have sewer hookup?

Yes – all RV sites at Madison Campground have full sewer, water, and electric hook up. At Terre Haute Campground 57 of the 60 RV sites are full hook up with sewer. At Camp Lakewood Campground 58 of the 62 RV sites are full hook up with sewer. At Meramec Campground sites 1-17 are full hook up with sewer. At Knoxville Campground all sites are full hook up EXCEPT sites 38-42. Our Campground Maps show which sites at each location are water and electric only and this information will also show when booking your site.

Why do I need to pay a deposit on cabins?

I have family stopping by, can they park at my site?

We request that any visitors park in the parking lot instead of at campsites. Doing so allows all of our guests to have room to come and go as they want.

Is my site a pretty level site?

Yes. We at Kiefer Campgrounds work to ensure each site is kept as level as possible.

Are there trees near my site?

Each of our campgrounds have trees spaced throughout them to provide shade. Feel free to call us at 217-342-1111 if having one at your site is a major concern.

Is my site satellite friendly?

Due to tree coverage, many sites do not receive great satellite feed. However, if that is a major concern, please call 217-342-1111 to check if there is a site available with less tree coverage.

Can I have a late check out time?

During check in, simply mention it. We will do all that we can to make it possible. If another guest is coming into that site, then you will need to move but otherwise, checking out an hour later or so is not a problem.
