Camping is a great opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with nature. Here are some camping activities to consider on your next adventure.

• Hiking: Take a hike and explore the surrounding area. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water and snacks. If you are in need of water or snacks, visit our camp store. At Meramec Campground we sell a variety of items for your convenience. 
• Fishing: If there is a nearby lake or river, consider bringing fishing gear and spending some time catching fish. At our campground, we have a catch-and-release fishing pond. 
• Swimming: Swim in a nearby lake or river, or look for a nearby swimming hole. If you’re uncomfortable with swimming in lakes or rivers, we have a great swimming pool at Meramec Campground. 

• Campfire: Gather around the campfire at night and roast marshmallows, tell ghost stories, or just enjoy the warmth and ambiance.

• Wildlife watching: Look for birds, squirrels, deer, and other animals in their natural habitat. You can observe plenty of wildlife from your campsite at Meramec Campground. 

• Outdoor games: Bring a Frisbee, soccer ball, or other outdoor games to play with friends and family. There is plenty of space at our campground for any games that you would like to enjoy. 

• Stargazing: Look up at the night sky and try to identify constellations and stars. 

• Canoeing or kayaking: If a lake or river is nearby, consider renting a canoe or kayak and exploring the water.

• Photography: Take your camera and capture the beauty of the outdoors. Meramec Campground provides many beautiful views that provide excellent photographs. 

• Reading: Bring a good book and spend some time reading in the quiet of nature.
