Banana Boats
Dessert is our favorite part of every meal! But how hard is it to make a dessert while you’re camping? Well, if you choose to make campfire banana boats your dessert can be delicious and easy! Read below to find out how to make them.
Ingredients:
- Ripe bananas
- Chocolate chips
- Mini marshmallows
- Aluminum foil
Instructions:
- Build a campfire and let it burn down until you have a good bed of hot coals.
- Cut the banana lengthwise down the middle. Do this with the peel still on. Do NOT cut all the way through. You want the bottom of the peel to remain intact.
- Lay out a sheet of aluminum foil and place a banana on it.
- Peel the banana slightly apart. You can mush the banana to the side of the peel to make more room.
- Sprinkle chocolate chips and mini marshmallows inside the banana.
- Fold the aluminum foil over the banana and crimp the edges to seal it.
- Repeat with the remaining bananas.
- Place the banana boats on a grate or directly on the hot coals of the campfire.
- Cook the banana boats for 5-10 minutes, or until the chocolate and marshmallows are melted and the banana is soft.
- Remove the banana boats from the fire with tongs and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Carefully open the aluminum foil and use a spoon to eat the melted banana boat filling.
